Post Event Review: Zephyrhills Museum of Military History D-Day Memorial Weekend
What an incredible weekend at the Zephyrhills Museum of Military History as we came together to honor and remember the sacrifices made during D-Day. The turnout for this year’s memorial event was outstanding, with an impressive mix of Living Historians and passionate civilians. It was truly inspiring to see the Florida Living History community unite with a shared purpose: to preserve the memory of those who served and to pay tribute to our fellow reenactors who have passed.

Community Spirit and Educational Engagement
The atmosphere was both reflective and engaging, with participants bringing history to life through authentic displays, meaningful conversations, and a deep respect for the legacy of D-Day. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and passion to making the event such a success.
Highlight: Nate Collins and the 2nd Rangers Display
A special mention goes to Nate Collins, whose blanket display stood out not only for its detail but for the heart behind it. Nate went above and beyond by engaging with every visitor, sharing insights into the history of the 2nd Rangers, their role in the D-Day landings, and the specifics of the standard-issued gear and uniform. His thoughtful comparisons between the Rangers’ equipment and that of other infantry units on the beaches added a rich layer of education for attendees of all ages.

Nate’s commitment to storytelling and historical accuracy exemplifies the spirit of this event and the power of living history to connect us with the past in meaningful ways.
